Bottom Cleaning Process
Bottom job services are completed with a hookah diving system. The diver will then assess the situation, giving the boat owner a detailed explanation of how the work will be completed. Typically running gear will be cleaned first; beginning with the propeller, followed by any struts, finishing with the propeller shaft. From there the hull cleaning will begin from the keel and the diver will work their way up to the water line. Light Barnacle growth is first removed using a scraper, followed up with a scotch bright pad or terry cloth; dependent on level of growth. The diver will use the least invasive method of fouling removal to ensure as little bottom paint is removed as possible; ensuring your ablative paint will endure. Vessels with intensive heavy growth are typically scraped with a 12 inch scraper, followed by an abrasive scotch bright pad.
